Specification of Artwork supplied for Designs.

To assist you in designing your layout, determining logo positions etc... please download the relevant template file from our Downloads page.

Vector based files are preferred as there is no distortion when the design is enlarged. Whether viewed up close or from a distance, vector drawings appear as smooth clean lines and have nice sharp edges.

In most cases, we can accept vector based graphics files created in Illustrator, Freehand, or CorelDRAW.

All fonts/type must be converted to outlines. All outlines used in the vector file must be set to either “scale with image” or there must be no outlines used.

High resolution Photoshop files in either a .psd, .png, .eps or ,tiff format might be acceptable especially for raster graphics. Files in .jpg format MIGHT be acceptable, but we suggest caution here.

If the design uses photographs or photo-realistic images, use raster graphics. If raster images are to be used, a resolution of 300 pixel per inch at final size is required. Please note, raster graphics are resolution dependant and cannot scale without loss of image quality. The following illustrates the difference between vector and raster based images when greatly enlarged.

You are not limited to the number of colours you use in your design. We use 4 colour CMYK process to print so any colour you can see in your software you may use. Where possible try to use PANTONE PMS colours as this will give you a better idea of what the final colours will look like. If you are not sure of what these colours are, speak to your local printer of letter heads etc... They should be able to help you.

Remember, no 2 computer screens or printers will give idential results. Keep this in mind when designing.
